Marking the 51th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates’ Union Day, the UAE’s Embassy in Syria on Friday held a reception at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.
The relations between Syria and the UAE are “very strong and brotherly,” the UAE’s Chargé d’Affairs in Damascus Abdul Hakim Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, said in a statement during the reception. He pointed out that he is confident that the Syrian people, who have built tens of civilizations throughout history, will emerge stronger from the current crisis.
He explained the strategic principles adopted by the UAE during the past 50 years in economy, politics and the development domain.
For her part, Minister of Culture Lubanah Mushaweh said that the brotherly ties between Syria and the UAE are based on mutual respect, hailing Syria’s distinguished participation in Expo 2020 Dubai.
She stressed the importance of cultural cooperation between Syria and the UAE, most notable of which is exchanging expertise in the fields of cultural heritage, music, plastic art, theater and cinema. She noted UAE’s important experience in supporting creative youth projects and initiatives.
In a statement to SANA, Special Advisor at the Syrian Presidency Bouthaina Shaaban said that the Syria-UAE relations are very distinguished and deeply-rooted, expressing hope that these relations will strengthen common Arab action that serves the interest of the Arab nation.
