UAE affirms its support for Syria’s independence and sovereignty

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), affirmed today his country’s steadfast position in supporting Syria’s independence and sovereignty over its entire territory.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported Abdullah bin Zayed as saying during his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shibani, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai: “The UAE stands by the brotherly Syrian people and supports all efforts that lead to fulfilling their aspirations for sustainable security, stability and decent life.”

The UAE Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of moving forward with the path of construction and development in the Syrian Arab Republic while providing all factors of security and stability for a promising future filled with opportunities for prosperity and welfare for the Syrian people.

The two ministers discussed the solid fraternal relations between the two countries and peoples and ways to enhance them in areas of mutual interest.

They also addressed current regional developments and several topics related to the agenda of the Woels Government Summit, as well as ways to benefit from this international gathering to enhance international cooperation that supports sustainable development efforts in communities.

Minister Al-Shibani said on his X account today: “I am pleased to represent Syria at the World Government Summit today in Dubai, and I had the honor of meeting His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss the most important issues related to strategic cooperation between our two countries, particularly concerning infrastructure, development and strengthening the public sector.”
