President al-Assad received yesterday, a message from U.S. Senator, Richard Black of Virginia in which he considered that the elections were a resounding victory for the Syrian people and that the world can not ignore the overwhelming support expressed by jubilant Syrians who flocked to the polls to cast their vote.
Senator Black noted that the Syrian voters made a strong warning to the violent jihadists to that the elections proved Syrians disgust of cutting heads, public executions and cannibalism, noting that it is now clear that foreign conspiracies to divide Syria on ethnical grounds had failed and that the Syrian people are remained united.
“I apologize for the rude and inappropriate comments of the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry about the elections. No rational can ignore elections in which three-quarters of voters chose a candidate by a margin of nine to one “, Senator Black said, adding,” fortunately, Kerry is not eligible to elect presidents, but it is the right of the Syrian people.
“ It was a day when your country was a heaven of stability and religious harmony, culture and civilization, and your election brings hope to those who dream of restoring the greatness that Syria had enjoyed “, the cable read.
He concluded by saying: These elections should not be ignored. They were a major step towards the achievement of world peace and a sign that time has come to yield to the will of the Syrian people and to put an end to this war.
