U.S. Couldn’t Fulfill Any of Its Commitments about Separating Terrorists from So-Called “Moderate Opposition”

 DAMASCUS-“The Americans could not fulfill any of their promises and any of their commitments about separating between terrorists and what they call the moderate opposition. They are only trying to support the terrorists in Syria,” The Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban has stressed, pointing out Russia behaved with complete responsibility towards making the cessation of hostilities in Syria a success.

 Interviewed by the Russian “RT” English Channel , Shaaban said “the Syrian government has agreed to the cessation of hostilities, but all terrorist organizations refused to adhere to that, and yet the United States and even the UN did not say one word to describe the facts as they are. So we are in a situation where the United Nations and the United States do not say the truth about what’s happening in Syria.”

Replying a question on why the United States couldn’t implement its commitment towards the Russian-American agreement on Syria, Shaaban said there are real differences and conflict of interest between the White House and the Pentagon which doesn’t want the fight to stop, adding that “the Americans do not want us to liberate Aleppo from the terrorists, they do not want us to liberate our country from the terrorists. They only reach a truce when they want to protect terrorists, and they want the terrorists to regroup and rearm themselves so they stay occupying part of our land.”

“I think that al-Nusra in Syria is absolutely protected by the United States, by Qatar, by Saudi Arabia and Turkey,” Shaaban said.“Reality also shows the American coalition is not fighting terrorism in Syria,” she added.

The presidential advisor went on to say that “Turkey is launching provocative attacks in northern Syria..Saudi Arabia and Qatar are financing these attacks plus the terrorists because they simply don’t want this war to end.”

Shaaban pointed out that tomorrow marks one year after the start of the Russian military operations in Syria in full cooperation with the Syrian Arab army with the purpose of fighting terrorism. She hailed Russia’s great efforts in this respect.  

In a similar interview with “RT” Arabic, Shaaban said the Russian way of fighting terrorism was more moral than the western way. “The Russian are honest in fighting terrorism not only in defense of the Syrian people but in defense of the entire world, ” she clarified.

Shaaban added that the United States continues to violate the Syrian sovereignty by carrying out  airstrikes in Syria without coordination or cooperation with the Syrian Army.

The American planes have committed a massacre against the Syrian army in Deir Ezzor and yesterday they destroyed two bridges, Shaaban said, noting that “the Americans are carrying out their operations without the cooperation of the Syrian government, without coordinating their efforts with us.”

“All what they are doing is targeting our army, people, land and sovereignty,” Shaaban added.
