GENEVA, (ST)-The UN Deputy Special Envoy for Syria Ramzy Ezzeldin Ramzy has stressed that the United Nations is committed to do its best as to make the intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva a success.
In a press conference on Thursday, Ramzy hoped for progress towards new round of Syria talks that could resume in late August.
‘Developments in the next few days could pave the way for intra-Syrian talks to resume by the end of this month,” he said.
“I think in the next few days there might be some movement,” towards holding “credible talks,” the UN envoy said, adding, “We have not given up hope. We cannot give up hope,” of finding a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Syria.
He pointed out that enhancing the cessation of hostilities agreement will make the coming talks “fruitful’.
