U N calls on the occupation to stop supporting settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank

Geneva, (ST) – The United Nations expressed its deep concern about the escalation of settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank. It called on the occupation authorities to stop supporting these attacks and hold those responsible accountable.

Wafa News Agency quoted the spokeswoman for the United Nations Human Rights Office, Ravina Shamdasani as saying in a press statement today in Geneva: The Israeli authorities, instead of supporting these attacks, should prevent more of them from occurring, including holding those responsible accountable.

Since the Israeli occupation began its aggression against Gaza Strip more than six months ago, the pace of distributing weapons to settlers has increased and they in turn have escalated their crimes against the Palestinians.

During the past few days, the Israeli occupation forces stormed into several villages in Ramallah and Nablus in the West Bank, resulting in the death and injury of a number of Palestinians and significant damage to homes and property.
