Two Omani writers devote the profits from their book sales to support those affected by the earthquake in Syria
Muscat (ST): Omani writers Huda Hamad and Suleiman Al-Mamari announced that they will devote the profits of their joint book sales for supporting those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck Syria last Monday.
The initiative of the two writers, who decided to sell their joint book entitled “I Am the Only One Who Ate the Apple” comes as a solidarity step to support those affected by the earthquake in their difficult ordeal.
The writer and editor-in-chief of Nizwa magazine, Huda Hamad, said about the initiative: “I decided with Suleiman Al-Mamari and in partnership with the Knowledge Readers Library to sell our joint book for the benefit of our loved ones affected by the earthquake that struck Syria recently,” adding: “Everything we will do will seem insignificant, but our small struggle and what we did is a small consolation to ourselves before others.”
For his part, writer and journalist Suleiman Al-Mamari called on governmental and private institutions and charities to help Syria, stressing that the unjust Western blockade imposed on the Syrian people is a great disgrace to humanity.
