Two meetings in the Ministries of Industry and Internal Trade to face the repercussions of the global economic crisis
Damascus (ST): Two meetings were held in the Ministries of Industry, Internal Trade and Consumer Protection to complement the expanded meeting that brought together Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and a number of ministers concerned with industrialists and traders in the framework of joint action to confront the repercussions of the global economic crisis on the national economy.
The meeting agreed on the memoranda presented by the unions of the Syrian Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the preparation of a unified memorandum containing the main points raised and required from the concerned authorities and submitted to the cabinet for study and necessary action.
The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, stressed that the most important priorities of government work are to provide foodstuffs and commodities on a permanent basis and to prevent monopoly, fraud and exploitation, pointing out that the ministry is working within the government work system with all its structures and institutions to provide all support to secure the flow of goods and materials at reasonable prices and puts all emergency solutions in cooperation with everyone to support the national economy in light of the sensitive stage that the global economy is going through.
