Two major fires erupt in Lebanon, residents appeal to the army to intervene

Beirut (ST): A large fire broke out today in the woods of Wadi Amir at the outskirts of the Barghash spring in the Wadi Jahannam region separating the Akkar and Denniye regions in northern Lebanon.

The National News Agency stated that the residents appealed to the Lebanese army to send a military helicopter to put  the fire out, due to the difficulty that the firefighting vehicles of the Civil Defense encountered  due to the ruggedness of the area, and the lack of fire trails or even  roads.

It is feared that the fire will expand, and it is the fourth that erupts in the region during this period in the forested lands.

Members of the Civil Defense Center in Qartaba, with the support of units of the Lebanese army, continued to work to put out a fire that broke out in a forest of pine  and oak trees in the locality of Aqaba Batraish in the town of Qartaba, Jbeil District, Mount Lebanon Governorate.

The firefighting teams and army units are facing great difficulty in controlling the fire due to the ruggedness of the area and the absence of roads that allow the firefighting vehicles to reach a point close to the outbreak of the fire.
