Two gold medals for Syria at the Sharjah International Para Athletics Forum

Abu Dhabi, (ST) – Syrian Special Sports team player Alaa Abdel Salam won two gold medals in the Sharjah International Para Athletics Forum held with the participation of 44 countries.

Abdul Salam managed to win gold medals in petanque and javelin throw, classified as “F53”, while player Khalil Mahmoud won fourth place in the petanque competition “F57”.

In a statement to SANA, the Head of the Syrian Paralympic Committee, Omar Al-Aroub referred the successive achievements of special sports, especially since these competitions qualify the winners for the 2024 Paris Olympics. He revealed that tomorrow,  Syria will begin its participation in the Khor Fakkan International Forum in the United Arab Emirates as well.

The Syrian mission participating in the fourth West Asian Paral Games, which was held in Sharjah and concluded recently, achieved 13 various medals.
