Two 4 magnitude tremors hit north of Lattakia

Two 4 magnitude earthquakes this afternoon hit the shores of Liwa Iskenderun, 60 km away from north of Lattakia.

The National Earthquake Center said ina statement to SANA that the first tremor occurred at 15:34 Local time on the shore of Liwa Iskenderun 59 km north of Lattakia with a depth of 21 km.

The second tremor took place at 15:40 local time on Liwa Iskenderun shore 60 km north of Lattakia with a depth of 17 km.

National Earthquake Center: 6 Tremors recorded during the Past 24 Hours

Earlier in the day, Syria’s National Earthquake Center announced that 6 tremors with less than magnitude 4,4 on Richter scale were recorded during the past 24 hours. The tremors were recorded in the northwest of Lattakia, Aleppo and Liwa Iskenderun.

The seismic situation is moving towards stability of the pre-February 6 period, according to the center.
