SWEIDA,(ST)_Twin blasts rocked Sweida city south of the country, killing at least 26 persons and wounding over 22 others on Friday, according to sources in the Police Command.
The sources clarified that terrorists exploded the first car bomb on Daher al-Jabal road in the eastern edge of Sweida city, killing at least 4 persons and wounding 8 others.
While the second car bomb was exploded at the southern door of the National Hospital in the heart of Sweida, killing at least 4 persons and wounding 14 others.
The two blasts caused damage to the hospital, nearby buildings and cars.
The death toll from the two blasts raised to 26.
The Cabinet denounced the terror blasts, stressing that such cowards terror acts will never dissuade the Syrian people from going ahead with fighting terrorism.
Sheikh Aql of Druze sect in Syria Yousef Jarbo’a told the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel that Takfiri terrorists targeted Sheikh Wahid Bal’os in today’s blast in order to foment sedition in Sweida.
“The failure of the plan of the homeland’s enemies in al-Tha’aleh airbase in Sweida countryside led them to change their strategy and to seek to foment sedition inside the city of Sweida,” Sheikh Harbo’a said.
On June 11, terrorist organizations fired rockets on the northern edge of Sweida city, killing at least one persons and wounding 2 others, one of them a 14-year old girl.
