Turkish regime issues arrest warrants for 47 people under the pretext of 2016 coup

The Turkish regime authorities issued arrest warrants for 47 people on the pretext of their association with the attempted coup in July 2016.

According to Turkish media, the Turkish regime police carried out simultaneous security operations in 24 provinces. The Public Prosecutor in Istanbul issued arrest warrants for 47 people, including active-duty officers, retired, dismissed and officers who resigned, and former military students and civilians on charges of association with the organization of the Turkish preacher Fethullah Gulen and the attempted coup against President The regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

 

Erdogan’s authorities have launched arrest campaigns that included all public and private sectors. Since 2016, the campaigns have resulted in the arrest of about 80,000 people awaiting trial, including those arbitrarily dismissed or suspended from work  in addition to 150,000 government employees, army and police personnel, and others.
