Turkish regime issued arrest warrants for 47 people

The Turkish regime issued arrest warrants for 47 people as part of the ongoing campaign of repression launched by the failed 2016 coup attempt.

The Turkish newspaper, Zaman,  reported that the Istanbul Prosecution issued warrants against 47 people in 14 cities, including former military students who were not arrested after the coup attempt because they were under the age of eighteen at that time.

Since the coup attempt, the regime of Recep Tayyip Erdogan has waged a repressive campaign that included all public sectors, and resulted in the arrest of about 80,000 people and the expulsion or arrest of about 150,000 government employees, army and police personnel and others from work.
