Turkish Regime Continues to Facilitate Entry of al-Qaeda-Linked Terrorists to Syria’s Idleb

IDLEB, (ST)- The Turkish regime continues to facilitate the entry of terrorists, particularly those linked to al-Qaeda terrorist organization, into the Syrian province of Idelb, SANA reported on Sunday.

The Turkish regime’s behavior comes as the demilitarized zone in Idleb and its vicinity is still witnessing repeated violations by the terrorist groups.

Media reports quoted local sources in Idleb as saying that “the last few days witnessed notable increase in the number of al-Qaeda-linked terrorists coming to Idleb across the Turkish borders and passing through Atma and Sarmada border towns to join the so-called “Hurras al-Din” group which is affiliated to al-Qaeda,  a blacklisted terror organization.

Since the signing of Sochi agreement on September 17, 2018, which provided for establishing a demilitarized zone in Idleb, the terrorist organizations backed by the Turkish regime have reinforced their positions in the vicinity of this zone. They also refused to hand over their heavy weapons and withdraw from the zone approved by the Russian-Turkish agreement on Idleb.
