Ankara,(ST)-Today, the authorities of the Turkish regime arrested two journalists in the context of the policies of repression practiced by the President of the regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, against his opponents in the country, including journalists, intellectuals and others.
Erdogan authorities arrested both the representative of the (Lee 1) news channel in Ankara, the journalist Ismail Dukal, and the journalist Mayser Yildiz, the author on the Oda TV website, after they revealed secrets and scandals related to Erdogan’s policies internally and externally.
The deputy leader of the opposition Turkish Republican People’s Party Yildirim Kaya condemned the arrest of Dukal and Yildiz , describing it as “a dangerous act that proves once again the hostility of Erdogan’s regime to freedom of the press and human rights and the most basic criteria of democracy.”
These arrests come after two weeks of financial penalties imposed by the Supreme Council of Radio and Television of the Erdogan regime on opposition channels, including (T Lee 1), Halk TV, Fox and Oda. The Council also prevented the broadcasting of many programs in the mentioned channels for multiple periods .
Member of Parliament of the Republican People’s Party, Otko Jacir Ozar, announced yesterday the monthly report of the reality of the media in Turkey that the number of journalists in prisons reached 117, while the security and judicial authorities targeted last May, based on direct instructions from Erdogan, many newspapers, televisions and news sites.
