Turkish regime-affiliated delegation tries to impose certain dictates that serve suspicious agendas

GENEVA, (ST)- The Turkish regime-affiliated delegation for Discussing the Syrian Constitution has hampered holding meetings of the mini committee for the second consecutive day because of its intransigence, rejection of the agenda proposed by the national delegation, and as well as its insistence to impose certain agendas that serve the interests of their masters, according to members of the national delegation to the Committee for Discussing the Constitution.

Mohammad Kheir al-Akkam said in a statement to SANA reporter in Geneva that “we are still working and there are intensive attempts to start seriously, but the other side wants to impose on us an agenda that is linked to their affiliations and it keeps refusing to discuss the agenda that was proposed by the national delegation.”

He added “we hope that tomorrow we will reach a common ground because we came here to work seriously in order to make the work of the committee a success.”

He stressed that the national delegation is flexible, pointing out that positive indications depends on the other side and its suggestions and on whether these suggestions express their national belongingness or their affiliations.

He noted the contradiction between what that the Turkish regime-affiliated delegation says in the media and what it says in the negotiations halls.

On her part, Ashwaq Abbas, another member of the national delegation, said that the other side wants to impose dictates and to exploit time in order to pass suspicious ideas that target the sovereignty and steadfastness of the Syrian people.

Commenting on the behavior of one of the members of the Turkish regime-affiliated delegation, who attended a Security Council session and presented an intervention there,  Abbas said this behavior undermines the principles of the committee’s work and violates the code of conduct and it is an attempt to divert the committee’s course from national proposals.
