Turkish parliamentarian: Dialogue with Syria is necessary to protect Turkey’s security

On January 17th, a member of the Turkish parliament belonging to  the opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) Erdogan Toprak said that direct and comprehensive dialogue with Syria is necessary to protect Turkey’s security.

Toprak stressed in an interview with the Turkish newspaper Birgun that the Syrian state has the full right to extend its authority over the governorate of Idlib.

“Everyone knows that the governorate of Idlib contains terrorists of the Al-Nusra Front organization and with it many similar organizations in their ranks are thousands of terrorists who came from several countries and they are all under the protection of the Turkish regime,” Toprak said.
