Turkish occupation’s mercenaries carry out more archeological excavations in Syria’s Afrin city to loot antiquities and smuggle them to Turkey

Mercenaries of the Turkish occupation continue their systematic criminal practices towards the Syrian heritage by launching new archeological excavations in the Turkish-occupied city of Afrin in Aleppo northern countryside under the direct supervision of Turkish intelligence bodies.

These criminal practices come within the Turkish occupation’s plan to undermine the cultural identity of this Syrian area after evacuating it from its original inhabitants.

Local sources told SANA that mercenaries of the Turkish occupation began to dig and bulldoze several historical sites on the outskirts of the Al-Nabi Hori castle in Afrin area in the northern countryside of Aleppo in a bid to search for Syrian antiquities and artifacts to loot and smuggle them to Turkey. They used modern equipment provided by the Turkish occupation authorities which directly supervised the excavations, the sources added.
