RAQQA, Jun.8, (ST)_ The Turkish occupation forces have brought in additional reinforcements to support their illegal bases and the terrorist organizations in the northern countryside of Raqqa, in parallel with the increase in the attacks being carried out by those organizations in the de-escalation zone in Idlib.
Local sources told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that a convoy composed of 15 military vehicles entered, during the past hours, from the Turkish territory through the Yabsa village crossing in the Tal Abyad region, in the north of Raqqa, and headed to the points of the occupation forces and the terrorist organizations with the aim of establishing what is called a “safe zone” inside Syrian territory, at a depth of 30 km along the border with Turkey.
On the 2nd of this month, the Turkish occupation forces brought in military reinforcements to support its terrorist groups in the vicinity of the city of Tal Abyad.
Within the context of the increase of terrorist attacks being carried out with the support of the Turkish regime in the de-escalation zone in Idlib, the Deputy Head of the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim, Rear Admiral Oleg Zhuravlev, said in a press statement: “Russia has noticed an upsurge in the activity of illegal armed groups in the Idlib de-escalation zone after Turkey’s statements it was beginning a military operation in Syria.”
He stressed that the ringleaders of the terrorist groups operating in the de-escalation zone were building up reserves and intensifying training and combat activity. In particular, over the past day, Russia registered 12 shelling in the Idlib de-escalation zone from positions held by Jabhat al-Nusra (a terrorist group banned in Russia). Six were in Aleppo province and as many in Idlib province.
“In Aleppo province, artillery fire by terrorists from the Maharet region against the positions of government forces in the Kafer Halab region left one Syrian soldier was wounded,” Zhuravlev said.
Another Syrian soldier was wounded in Idlib province as a result of an artillery bombardment of government army positions in the Kafer Nebel area.
