Turkish occupation and its mercenaries again cut off potable water supplied by Allouk water station to Hasaka

HASAKA, (ST)- The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries again has cut off potable water supplies for the city of Hasaka and its vicinity after they stopped water pumping  from the Allouk water station in the countryside of Ras al-Ayn. This aggressive behavior deprives about one million people in Hasaka province of access to drinking water.

Director of the General Establishment for Drinking Water in Hasaka Mahmoud al-Akla said in a statement to SANA that the Turkish occupation forces and their affiliated mercenaries on Friday stopped water pumping from Allouk station and prevented workers in the establishment from entering the station to operate it. He added that the station was working normally before the occupation and its mercenaries stopped it, pointing out that the electric power feeding the Allouk project comes from al-Darbasiyah substation.

On Thursday, the Hasaka water establishment installed two electric transformers and two electricity generators for the wells in Allouk Water Project in Ras al-Ayn countryside. These were presented by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in order to improve and increase water pumping operations.

The Allouk water project in the eastern countryside of Ras al-Ayn is the only source of drinking water for about one million people in Hasaka. Previously, it was repeatedly stopped due to attacks on the water station by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
