A Turkish Member of Parliament, known for his criticism of Erduğan’s government for selling Turkish lands to Israel says Syria, like Libya, had been victim of crisis by foreign countries’ ambitions to energy resources.”
Mehmet Ali Edib-oğlu, representative for Hatay, a strategic city in Turkish-Syrian border has been elected for Hatay seat in Turkish Parliament with high percent of votes from Alevis. Turkish nationalists and anti-Israelis know him for his role in uncovering selling of land to Israelis by Turkish government and his critiques of Erduğan administration.
In an interview to Mehr News Agency, Ediboğlu pointed to foreign interventions in Syria and said that energy-seeking attempts were interpreted as democracy in Syria, and foreign countries had targeted energy resources in Syria, according to MNA.
The member of Turkish Parliament Foreign Relations Commission also added that Syria has important energy reserves for future, and this had US and west try to find foot places in the country through government change, just what had happened in Libya. “In Lybia, each invading country had its share of the Libyan oil, and clashes revealed that the main pretext has been oil, and not Gaddafi,” he asserted.
“In Iraq also the same approach was taken by invasion forces,” he said. “US and western countries under the banner of democracy seek to control energy resources in Middle East, and thus they change governments,” he added.
“Democracy can solely be realized by the people themselves, and occupation and crisis would not help democracy in any country,” he said, “foreign interventions in the region has nothing but crisis and terrorism for Syria, the only solution is political solution,” he emphasized.
