Turkish gambling leading to total defeat

On October 9th, the Turks started another military invasion into Syria under the name “Operation Peace Spring”. Can this name giving be more cynical? Invading a neighbour, killing its citizens and this under the name “Peace Spring”? But does it surprise anyone after all these years of supporting, organising and weaponising terrorist groups in Syria that the Turks went once again one step further? As the future will show, the decision to invade Syria will be a sour decision which the Turks will regret a lot. Defeat and humiliation will be their fate.

The Kurds in Syria are Syrians, sons and daughters of the homeland

The Syrian people are amongst the most diverse in the world. Religiously, ethnically and politically. But the one thing that always united the Syrian people above all these personal characteristics is the Syrian homeland and identity. As long as history goes back, the Syrian people lived together in peace and harmony, patriotic and willing to sacrifice oneself for the homeland. The idea that the Syrian government would betray and not come to the defence of their sons and daughters would prove to be a huge miscalculation by the Turks. The Kurds living in Syria are in the first place Syrians. Religion or ethnicity in Syria has always been something belonging to the private life. The defence of the homeland and the unity of the Syrian people in times of crisis will always come first.

The American treachery

Because of some complexities of the war against terrorism, the Syrian Kurds came in a very particular situation whereby the American occupier’s troops shamelessly and without any sense of morality abused the Kurdish population to serve their own purposes being, setting the Kurdish population up against the Syrian government by providing them with military training and weaponry. To the outside world, this American criminal operation seemed to be successful but when we really look deeper inside the reality on the ground, there has never been a significant military clash between the (Kurdish) Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Arab Army. Merely some minor skirmishes because of the American interference. All the attempts by the Americans to unleash a full scale war between the Syrian Kurdish population on the one hand and the Syrian government and Syrian Arab Army on the other hand  were doomed from the beginning.

When the American occupier realised its failure, they stabbed their “(Kurdish) allies” in the back by silently giving the Turks complete freedom to start their genocidal campaign by withdrawing the US military and leaving their imaginary former allies on their own. Or in the words of US President Donald Trump himself… “They (the Kurds) didn’t help us in the Second World War. They didn’t help us with Normandy.”

The Turks will fail because of the unity of the people

Confronted by the American treachery, the situation for the Kurdish population looked grim. The SDF do have modern weaponry provided by the Americans but the Turkish army backed up by their airforce would be a though reality to deal with. One can assume that the Turkish occupation troops were thinking to finish their goals swiftly. But what followed was a surprise for the Turks.

As mentioned earlier in this article, the Syrian identity always comes in the first place and will always be above any secondary personal characteristics. The retreat of the American troops created a vacuum which the Syrian Arab Army filled without hesitation.

The glory and triumph of the Syrian people’s unity became crystal clear. The artificial division the Americans tried to create between the Syrian Kurdish people and the Syrian government melted away the moment the American troops melted away.

The unity of the Syrian people and the sacrifices of the Syrian National Army in defense of the homeland will forever remain an impregnable fortress against any form of terrorism and state terror.
