The Turkish conductor İnciÖzdil, who will lead the Syrian national Symphony Orchestra during concert to be held Thursday in Damascus Opera House, has said peoples’ voice is louder than sound of war and bullet.
She told the official news agency (SANA) that the concert is a message to the whole world that friendly and amity relations between Syrian and Turkish peoples will not be affected by political orientations as the two peoples have joined civilized cultural links.
“I have been acquainted with the Syrian Symphony Orchestra during a program broadcasted by the Turkish Ulusal television channel. I have been surprised with the level of the orchestra and the continuity of its activities despite the war on Syria,” the conductor clarified.
She asserted that the goal of her participation in the concert is to develop Syrian-Turkish art and cultural relations as politics and culture complete each other.
“I came to Syria to convey the Turkish people’s feelings of love and solidarity towards their Syrian brothers .. No power on earth can separate these two friendly peoples, and music will remain the language that brings world peoples together ,” the Turkish conductor said.
İnciÖzdil, the head of Art and Culture Department in the opposition ‘al-Watan’ Party, was the first female leading Turkish Symphony Orchestra. She formed a symphony orchestra in Antalya city, studied music in Italia and England and held many concerts in Europe and Turkey.
