The Turkish demonstrators continued their protest in Istanbul due to the economic situation and the high cost of living as a result of the policies pursued by the regime’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the country.
The Associated Press reported that the protest came amid rising inflation that has severely eroded citizens’ purchasing power, high unemployment rates and a sharp depreciation of the Turkish lira that followed a series of interest rate cuts.
The demonstrators chanted slogans calling for Erdogan’s resignation and the Turkish regime’s riot police used shields to disperse the demonstrators.
Tens of thousands of Turks demonstrated on wednesday in the Turkish city of Istanbul, calling for the government’s resignation, a day after the deteriorating economic situation and the fall of the Turkish lira as a result of the policies pursued by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
