Turkish Defense Ministry affirms support for Syria against terrorist organizations

The Turkish Ministry of Defense renewed Turkey’s support for the Syrian people and its adoption of preventive measures against terrorist organizations that threaten Syria’s administrative and geographical unity.

The Turkish Anadolu Agency quoted the Ministry’s Public Relations and Media Advisor, Zeki Akturk, as saying during a press conference today: “We will maintain close cooperation with the new administration in Syria to enhance Syria’s defense and security capabilities, and to ensure the voluntary, safe and dignified return of Syrians.”

Akturk stressed that his country will continue to take preventive and destructive measures against all terrorist organizations, especially the “PKK”, “PYD”, “YPG” and “ISIS” that threaten Syria’s administrative and geographical unity as well as peace and security in the region, stressing that no terrorist entity will be allowed to exist or impose a fait accompli in the region.

Akturk stated that a delegation from the Ministry of Defense visited Syria yesterday to hold technical talks, indicating that Turkey will continue to stand by the Syrian people in the next stage as it has done.
