Turkish Ambassador: Turkey will be a basic supporter of reconstruction in Syria

The Turkish Ambassador to Syria Burhan Koraoglu congratulated the Syrian people on their victory, stressing that this victory will open many horizons for Syria, including in reconstruction, in providing aid and in strengthening the infrastructure in all fields.

In a statement to the Syrian “Al-Watan” newspaper, Koraoglu said “Turkey, as a neighbor of Syria and a friendly country, is now here in Damascus. We were present in the north, but could not come here because of the regime. Now, the doors have been opened for us so that the Turkish people can support the Syrian people”.

The Turkish Ambassador was speaking on the sidelines of the event of distributing relief and food aid to citizens in Damascus. The aid was distributed by the Turkish Red Crescent, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.

“This is modest quick aid, but the main work will be in the field of reconstruction, and Turkey will be one of the countries supporting this field”, Koraoglu said.

He indicated that, all the problems related to electricity, water and infrastructure will be solved and all the facilities destroyed in Syria during the war, will be rebuilt, God willing, with international assistance.

He added that, Turkey will be a basic supporter, alongside other countries, including Arab, Islamic, and Western countries, for reconstruction

“We will do our best to prepare this country to receive returning refugees”, he pointed out.

The Turkish Ambassador stressed that “Syria has been our neighbor since ancient times, and even in history we lived together for long periods as one people. Now there is a loyal neighbor to Syria, and we are fully prepared to support Syria”.

He added that Syria has great capabilities, but the war and the former regime have delayed the country’s development.

The mbassador pointed out that the Syrian people will now be supported so that they can reach the advanced level they deserve.
