DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H. E. President Bashar Al-Assad underscored the necessity for international community movement as to compel Turkey to halt its destructive role, with its dire consequences not only on the Syrian People, but on all the people in the region , including the Turkish people.
During his talks here Wednesday with the visiting Foreign Minister of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, President Al-Assad pointed out that viewpoints were identical regarding the risks posed by the role played by Turkish leaderships in this phase, which brought again the pain and sufferings of the region people at the hands of the old Ottoman Empire.
President Al-Assad lauded Armenia stances by Syria during the ongoing crisis, asserting that Armenian Government can play an important role at this stage through the conveying of correct picture and reality to the West, particularly regarding the proliferation of terrorist Takfiri forces, backed intellectually, financially, and militarily from Western sides as well as from other proxy regional sides.
H.E. President Al-Assad underlined the need for genuine fight against terrorism and not only through lip services and secret support to terrorism.
The Syrian People suffer today what the Armenian People suffered in their history and with the same tools of slaughter and terrorism, even the objectives and way were different, underscored President Al-Assad.
Minister Nalbandian condemned the massacres perpetrated by the terrorists against the Syrian People, which also target the pivotal role of Syria with its deep rooted long history of harmony and accord among all the components of Syria.
Minister Nalbandian underlined the need for collective and genuine efforts as to fight terrorism and secure appropriate conditions for solving the crisis in Syria by the Syrians themselves.
In a joint press conference with Minister Nalbandian, Minister al-Moallem said the Foreign Minister of France, Laurent Fabius, has to stop conspiring against Syria, he and his allies, and the Syrian People are able to confront the terrorist attacks and forbid any bids at dismembering Syria.
Blasted the recent statements by Turkish Foreign Ministry prove Turkey’ acknowledgement of supporting terrorism in Syria, added Minister al-Moallem.
Minister al-Moallem hailed the support provided by Iran an Russia to the steadfastness of the Syrians against the terrorism, supported swiftly on a daily basis by anti-Syrians, citing the flux of Takfiri terrorists, weapons, ammunition from across the borders, where the injured terrorists are treated too.
In reply to another question, Minister al-Moallem blasted those who back ISIS and Al-Nusra in Syria as unbalanced and filled with grudge, asserting that Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar and Turkey escalate attacks and conspire against Syria.
“Had the international community brought to account the butchers who committed the Armenian massacres in the beginning of last century, their descendants today in Turkey wouldn’t have dared perpetrate massacres through their tools in Syria,” said al-Moallem.
“What has the international community done about the new butchers?” he asked.
Minister al-Moallem added that the visiting Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian held “fruitful and constructive” talks with President Bashar Al-Assad.
al-Moallem said he held a round of talks with Nalbandian at the Foreign Ministry HQ that addressed different issues and discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries.
“Our viewpoints were identical with regard to the issues that were discussed, including the bilateral relations and the priority of fighting terrorism in Syria,” he added.
The Armenian Foreign Minister said there must be “a strong international confrontation” against terrorism in the Middle East, particularly in Syria.
“We are worried about the continuous confrontations in Syria and the current crisis and the disasters resulting from the terrorists’ operations there,” Nalbandian added.
He said Armenia has, since the beginning of the crisis in Syria, constantly raised the issue of prohibiting support to the terrorists and the need of finding an immediate solution to the situation in the Middle East, at various international forums.
“We will continue to keep these issues at the center of the international community’s concerns,” he added.
Nalbandian noted that his visit to Syria this year in particular bears a symbolic meaning, as a hundred years ago, the Ottoman Empire committed genocide against a million and a half Armenians.
