Turkey Must Have No Place within EU, NATO – Slovak Parliament Speaker

BRATISLAVA, (ST)- Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Andrej Danko believes that Turkey must have no place within the European Union or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization NATO, describing the Turkish regime as a big problem.

Talking to the Slovak TV last night, Dako, urged the European Union to reject the Turkish regime’s blackmailing policy regarding the refugee crisis, clarifying that Turkey keeps threatening of sending more immigrants and refugees to the European countries if the EU doesn’t comply with Ankara’s demands including paying some 6 billion euro to the Turkish government and exempting the Turks from the entry visa to EU countries.

The Slovak Speaker criticized the European Commission’s proposal that every EU country pay Turkey 250 thousand euro for each refugee it doesn’t accept, describing the suggestion as strange.

The EU countries have been exposed to the Turkish regime’s blackmailing in the refugee issue and were compelled last March to sign with Turkey an agreement aiming to stop the flow of refugees and immigrants into Europe. The agreement provided for paying Turkey 6 billion euro on two phases as to halt the refugees influx into the EU countries, exempting the Turks from the entry visa to the European Shengen area and accelerating talks on Turkey’s joining of the EU.

The policies of the Turkish regime and those of the Gulf states and some western countries on supporting terrorism in the region, in addition to the unjust economic sanctions imposed on some countries are the top reasons for the immigrant crisis which is currently being exploited by Erdogan’s regime to blackmail Europe.
