ANKARA, Mar.22, (ST)-Today, Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu revealed a comprehensive Turkish support plan for the transportation and communications sectors in Syria, according to the Turkey Now news website
Uraloğlu’s statement was made during a meeting of the Justice and Development Party’s Central Committee.
He made it clear that the plan includes a review of the structure of the transportation, communications, and communications departments in Syria, and identifying development needs in these sectors.
The performance of relevant Syrian institutions was also evaluated, and existing gaps were identified, the minister added.
He said: “Experts in this regard would be sent to Syria, and that all forms of technical and logistical support would be provided. The Çobanbay-Aleppo and Meydan-Ekbez railways would be rehabilitated, in addition to addressing deficiencies at the Damascus and Aleppo airports, and supporting aircraft maintenance and repair.”
