Turkey calls on Security Council to take immediate measures towards Israeli military escalation against Syria

Turkey’s permanent representative to the United Nations Ahmed Yildiz has strongly condemned the continuous Israeli military escalation against Syria, calling on the Security Council to take immediate and decisive measures against this escalation.

At this critical moment, the international community must provide and intensify its support to help the Syrian people in overcoming the challenges they face,” Yildi News Agency quoted Yildiz as saying, calling for lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria and supporting humanitarian relief and reconstruction efforts in the country.

Yildiz affirmed his country’s commitment to doing its best to provide all necessary assistance to ensure stable, united and safe Syria, noting the efforts of the new interim government.

Yildiz considered that the new stage in Syria represents a historical opportunity for both the Syrian people and the region, and the Syrian people cannot miss this opportunity.
