Tunisian Cinema Week Activities At  Al-Assad House Launched 

Damascus-(ST)- Within the framework of strengthening relations between Syria and Tunisia and in confirmation of the role of cinema, the activities of the Tunisian Cinema Week were launched on Tuesday evening at the Drama Theater in the Al-Assad House for Culture and Arts in Damascus.

The opening ceremony was attended by diplomatic, artistic, cultural and media entities, during which the distinguished artists were honored: Duraid Lahham, Mona Wassef, and the late director Abdel Latif Abdel Hamid.

In his speech, the Tunisian Ambassador Mohamed Al-Muhazabi: This occasion represents a return to cultural activity at the official level between Tunisia and Syria.

In turn, the Director General of the General Film Corporation, Murad Shaheen, stated that it was planned to have a twinning between the Damascus Film Festival and the Carthage Film Days, which resulted in a lot of distinguished cooperation for both countries.

He added: The Tunisian films that will be presented during the next three days will evoke the beautiful past in cultural relations and lay the foundation for a future.

On the first day of Tunisian Cinema Week, the film “In Our Eyes” by director Najib Belkadi was screened.

On Wednesday, the film “Dashra” directed by Tunisian Abdelhamid Bouchnak will be shown.

On Thursday, the film “Before It’s Too Late” by director MagdyAl-Khader will be screened.
