Tunisian Authorities Urged to Restore Full Diplomatic Ties with Syria

TUNIS, (ST)- The Tunisian National Commission for Supporting Arab Resistance and Combating Normalization with Zionism has called on the Tunisian authorities to hurry in restoring full diplomatic ties with Syria.

In a statement on Tuesday, the commission thanked Syria for the hospitality a Tunisian delegation representing the Commission and some Tunisian media outlets received during their recent visit to Syria.

The statement stressed the importance of the delegation’s meetings with Syrian officials as well as popular figures and citizens in Damascus and Aleppo.

According to the statement, the delegation members expressed the Tunisian people’s pride in the victories made by the Syrian Arab army and people, led by President Bashar Al-Assad, in the battle against takfiri terrorism and in confrontation of the conspiracies plotted by imperialist aggression forces and implemented by Zionist-wahhabi tools to destroy Syria and undermine its national resistance stances.

The statement pointed out that more than 360 thousand terrorists and mercenaries from more than 80 countries, including thousands of Tunisians youths, were recruited to destroy Syria, kill the Syrians, target the country’s infrastructure and institutions and undermine the state’s nationalist project through which Syria achieved its decades old self-sufficiency and fortified its national independence and sovereignty.
