Tunisia’s Nabil Maaloul appointed head coach of Syria’s national football team

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Syrian Football Federation announced on Wednesday the appointment of the Tunisian football coach Nabil Maaloul as the head coach of the Syrian national football team which is due to participate in the 2020 World Cup and Asian Cup Qualifiers.

Following his appointment, Maaloul tweeted “I am happy to be appointed as Syria’s new head coach and delighted with the Syrian Football Federation’s trust in me.”

 “Our primary objective is to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar” he said.

 Maaloul will be signing a two-year contract, according to Tunisian media.
