Trump: America will take control of Gaza Strip

US President Donald Trump said that the United States would take control of the war-ravaged Gaza Strip after resettling Palestinians elsewhere and developing it economically.

Trump unveiled his surprise plan without providing details at a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump said: “The United States will take control of the Gaza Strip and we will do our work with it as well.

We will be responsible for dismantling all dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on site.”

“If necessary, we will do it, we will take that piece of land, we will develop it, we will create thousands and thousands of jobs, and it will be something that the entire Middle East can be proud of,” he added.

“I see long-term ownership and I see that bringing great stability to this part of the Middle East.”

When Trump was asked about who would live there, Trump said it could become a home for people from around the world and predicted it would become the Riviera of the Middle East.
