Transport Ministry: Latest Israeli aggression targeted the infrastructure of Damascus International Airport
The Ministry of Transport announced on Friday that the latest Israeli aggression on Syria targeted the infrastructure of Damascus International Airport and damaged the airstrips, causing them to go out of service.
“The airstrips were massively damaged in several locations. The navigation lights as well as the second lobby of the airport were also damaged and thus all arriving and departing flights at the airport have been suspended until further notice,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that tireless work is underway by the staff of civil aviation and concerned national companies to fix the damage so that flights are resumed as soon as possible.
A military source said on Friday that the Israeli enemy attacked with rockets some points south of Damascus from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan. The source pointed out that the Syrian air defenses confronted the missiles and downed most of them.
