Transformation Stations at a Cost of 4 mln. Euros

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Ministry of Electricity received recently 4 transformation stations (66 to 20 kv) with a capacity of each 20 MW at a cost of 4 million euros as part of a contract between the General Establishment for Electricity with friendly countries.

Assistant Director General of the General Electricity Establishment, Dr. Fouad Sulaitin, said  in a press statement that  receiving the four stations is the first of a contract which provides for the supply of 8 stations at a total cost of $ 8 million euros.

Chairman of the Operating Department at the General Organization Eng. Firas Mosa clarified that these stations can be moved easily from one place to another to serve any area you need to supply them with electricity and these stations have a new system to control the whole plant parts via computer.

The Ministry of Electricity is working to make contracts and supply needed materials for the rehabilitation of the electricity network and providing the necessary tools and spare parts.
