Transferring Palestinian cancer-stricken prisoner Abu Hamid to Al-Ramla prison a crime: Prisoners’ Commission

The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Affairs Commission has stressed that transferring the Palestinian cancer-stricken prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid to Al-Ramla prison despite his critical health condition is slow murder. They urged the international community to move immediately as to stop this crime and save the prisoner’s life.

The Israeli occupation authorities have recently transferred Abu Hamid to Al-Ramla prison regardless of his urgent need for medical follow up.

In a statement on Saturday , the commission said that the health condition of Abu Hamid is still critical. He is unable to move except on a wheelchair and he needs urgent medical treatment and continuous assistance.

Transferring Abu Hamid to Al-Ramla prison is dangerous as this prison lacks the medical equipment necessary to follow up on his condition.

The commission called on international institutions in charge of prisoners’ affairs to stop the Israeli occupation’s attempt to kill Abu Hamid and to pressure the occupation authorities to release him immediately so he can receive proper treatment in the hospitals of the West Bank.
