Toxic ammonia leaks from a chemical plant in a Ukrainian city

Keiv, (ST) – The Head of the Sumy region administration, Dmitry Zyvitsky, announced that an ammonia leak had occurred at a chemical plant in the city of Sumy, northeastern Ukraine. He stressed that there was no threat to the lives of residents there.

Zyvitsky wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday that, “the accident occurred in the morning, the affected area is about 2.5 kilometers, and emergency teams are working on the site, and there is no threat to the lives of the residents of Sumy.”

 The Russian Defense Ministry had previously warned of the danger of provocations that the Keiv authorities might resort to with the support of the West through toxic chemicals against civilians with the aim of accusing Russia of doing so.
