Towns along International highway ‘safe’, says Army Command

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The General Command of Army and  Armed forces announced on Saturday that18 towns along the international highway are ‘safe’.

The statement issued by the General Command of Army and Armed Forces read: “The Syrian Arab Army Forces carried out a qualitative operation, in cooperation with locals, during which stability and security were restored to the towns (in rural area in Aleppo) along the international highway.”

Defense factories establishment, scientific research centers and Aleppo international Airport became also secure areas. 

SANA quoted the statement as adding: “this achievement is the result of efforts being exerted by the armed forces to eliminate terrorists and mercenaries in the towns, and proves our armed forces’ determination to press ahead with doing its national duty as regards defending our people and homeland.”

“Immediately after completing the successful operation, the armed forces ensured humanitarian aid to the locals affected by the terrorist groups’ crimes and worked to guarantee the return of displaced citizens to their homes there.”

The statement appealed to mislead Syrian citizens to lay down weapons and go back to the right path.
