DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Tourism Minister Eng. Bisher Yazigi said that the Syrian expatriates, who are the best ambassadors for their country in the countries of expatriate, have a big role in building their country.
The Minister, during a meeting with a delegation representing the Syrian community in Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic at the Sheraton Damascus, added that the tourism sector at the top of the economic sectors affected by the current situation, whereas work is on progress to promote the tourism sector in the coming period through a prior plan.
Eng. Yazigi clarified that investment in the tourism sector has recorded in the recent period a significant increase compared to the previous two years because of the conviction of the owners of capital that they invest in a country of robust economy and promising opportunities.
For his part, head of the delegation Dr. Ihsan Baraka said the visit aims at identifying the role of Syrian expatriates to the service of their country, especially in the field of tourism, briefing on the tourism condition and the and the future vision through building a road map for the next period.
It is noteworthy that the delegation includes a number of businessmen, university professors, engineers, physicians from Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary.
