Nur-Sultan (ST): Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Toloberdi affirmed that the recent developments related to the 18th international meeting on Syria in the Astana format showed the increasing importance of the Astana process for these talks.
During his speech at an international conference entitled “The Republic of Kazakhstan in the Modern System of International Relations,” Toloberdi explained that the eighteenth international meeting in the Astana format on Syria, which was held on the 15th and 16th of last month in Nur-Sultan, showed that in the context of the suspension of the Geneva talks, the role of The Astana formula is growing,” noting that over the years, Kazakhstan has deservedly strengthened its position as an intermediary country open to dialogue in order to find solutions acceptable to all parties concerned.
In another context, Toloberde believed that facing Western sanctions requires changing the activities of the Eurasian Economic Union and creating a real free market, which is a vital condition for the growth of the economies of the countries of the Union.
