Tiaglova: Moscow rejects discriminatory policies by preventing representatives of countries from participating in UN activities

Moscow (ST): The official in the Russian Foreign Ministry, Irina Tiaglova, announced that Switzerland refused to issue entry visas to Russian diplomats who were scheduled to participate in UN activities in Geneva, stressing that Moscow rejects discriminatory policies to prevent representatives of countries from participating in the events held under the auspices of the United Nations under false pretexts.

Russia Today website quoted Tiaglova as saying during the meeting of the UN Working Group on International Information Security: “To ensure the effective work of the UN team, countries must participate with full representation in the negotiating process,” noting in this regard that commitments regarding hosting the UN bodies are not only implemented by the United States, but also by Switzerland.

The Russian official said: “We have specific observations regarding the issuance of entry visas to Russian experts to participate in the work on IT security taking place in Geneva under the auspices of the United Nations”.
