Three Police Officers Martyred in Explosion Near Al-Mayadeen Police Station

Three police officers were martyred and two others were injured due to an explosion that occurred today near the police station in the city of Al-Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zor.

The director of the Al-Mayadeen area, Khalil Abdul-Mun’im Al-Ayoub, said today that at exactly 7:13 PM , an explosion occurred near the Al-Mayadeen police station. Initial investigations and site inspections revealed that it was caused by a car bomb, resulting in the martyrdom of three members of the public security and several injuries.

He added:The security forces and police quickly secured the explosion site and continued investigations. We reassure our people in Al-Mayadeen that this crime will not go unpunished and we are vigilant in protecting the country and its people.
