Three gunmen were killed when an explosive device went off in a Hummer military vehicle in the vicinity of Al-Omar Oilfield in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Deir Ezzor where the US occupation forces have established a military base.
Local sources told SANA that it has not been verified yet whether the killed gunmen were from the American occupation forces or the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militia.
The sources added that following the explosion, the SDF militia, backed by US occupation forces, stormed Rweishid village, kidnapped more than 50 civilians and took them to an unknown destination.
Areas in the Syrian Al-Jazira, where groups affiliated to the US-backed SDF militia are positioned, have been witnessing repeated attacks targeting this militia’s points and military vehicles. Dozens of SDF militants were killed and wounded over the past period.
On Wednesday, four gunmen were killed and scores others were injured in separate attacks in Hasaka and Deir Ezzor.
