Three breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed in the last 24 hours

Lattakia – The Russian Coordination Center observed three breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement by terrorist groups during the past 24 hours, with the total number of breaches raised to 709 since the agreement came into effect on 27 February, SANA reported.

The Russian center, based in Hmeimim airbase, said in a statement on Thursday that terrorists of “Jaish al-Islam” targeted with mortar shells a number of military positions in Hteitet al-Jarash, Harasta and al-Qaissa in Damascus countryside.

The cessation of hostilities agreement is still holding in most Syrian provinces, as the total number of cities and towns that joined it has reached 161, according to the center.

It pointed out in its statement that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists continued targeting the neighborhoods of al-Khalidiyeh, al-Zahraa, al-Sheikh Maqsoud, al-Nairab airport and Handarat town in Aleppo.

Five tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to two towns in Aleppo and Hama, the center said, adding that an Abakan Air plane dropped 18 tons of humanitarian aid over the ISIS-besieged Deir Ezzor city.

The cessation of hostilities agreement does not cover ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
