Beirut, (ST) – The Vice-President of the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council in Lebanon Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib stressed yesterday the necessity of activating the agreements signed between Syria and Lebanon within the framework of the Treaty of Brotherhood, Cooperation and Coordination for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
In his speech yesterday in the town of Labaya in the western Bekaa region, Al-Khatib called for opening up to Syria and activating the agreements signed with it, as this has a great impact in easing the economic and living burdens on the Lebanese people.
On the other hand, Al-Khatib expressed his hope, especially after President Bashar Al-Assad’s visit to the United Arab Emirates, that the relation between Syria and the United Arab Emirates will be enhanced by more Arab initiatives towards Syria in a way that enhances Arab solidarity in the face of all dangers.
