The Israeli occupation’s new settlement building plans defy the international legitimacy resolutions

The Israeli occupation continues to defy the international law and the international legitimacy resolutions through announcing new settlement building plans in order to seize more Palestinian lands in the West Bank on which it will establish new settlement units, thereby undermining any hope for establishing the independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital, according to the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s (PLO) National Bureau for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements.

In its weekly report, the Bureau said that last week, the occupation announced a new plan to establish 2600 settlement units on Palestinian lands in the West Bank, including occupied Al-Quds. Days later, the occupation announced a plan to establish 800 new settlement units as part of its war of settlement expansion and Judaization that aims to isolate Palestinian cities and villages from each other, the report added.

It added that while these expansionist plans are being implemented through displacing the Palestinians, demolishing their houses and facilities, setting up settlement roads on the Palestinians’ lands and attacking their sanctities, the Israeli settlers also go on with their attacks on the West bank towns and villages under the protection of the occupation forces.

Dozens of settlers stormed the villages of Madma, Douma, Burin, the town of Huwara, south of Nablus, and the villages of Jeet, east of Qalqilya and Burqa, to the northeast of Ramallah. They attacked the Palestinians and their properties, causing injuries to a number of locals, including children and women. They also stormed the areas of Twani and Sha’b Al-Butm and the town of Yatta, south of Al-Khalil city and uprooted dozens of fruit trees, according to the report.

The Palestinian government always calls on the international community to act effectively in order to stop the Israeli settlement operations and to oblige the occupation to implement the decisions of international legitimacy, mainly Resolution No. 2334 which calls for an immediate halt of settlement activities.
