The Israeli occupation forces Wednesday morning demolished a mosque in the Bedouin community of Azwadeen, east of Yatta area, to the south of Al-Khalil city in the West Bank.
Coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committees Fuad al-Amour in Masafer Yatta told WAFA news agency that that Israeli occupation forces stormed Khirbet Umm Qassa in the Bedouin community of Azwadeen with bulldozers and completely demolished the mosque.
The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs described the demolition of the mosque as a war crime and a blatant assault on holy sites in occupied Palestine.
It said that there are no longer safe worshipping places in the light of the ongoing attacks and violations by the Israeli occupation and settlers.
The Ministry called on the international community to take urgent action to protect Islamic and Christian sanctities in the occupied Palestinian territories, and to put pressure on the occupation to stop its crimes and violations.
Within the framework of implementing its aggressive settlement and Judaization plans, the occupation forces have been escalating the demolition of Palestinian houses and properties in the West Bank in the light of the international community’s inaction towards the Israeli violations, despite Palestinian demands for urgent intervention to implement the UN Resolution No. 2334 which calls for an immediate halt of the Israeli settlement building activities.
