The young Syrian Farah Al-Hajali wins the arbitration prize in the Alaa Al-Jaber competition for theatrical creativity

The Syrian young woman, Farah Nasser Al-Hajali, won the Special arbitration Prize in the Alaa Al-Jaber Competition for Theatrical Creativity, for the category of theatrical text directed to children, during the Cairo International University Theater Festival, which was held between the 22nd and 28th of last month.

The events of the text, titled “Package of Feathers”, as explained by young Farah deal with a range of issues, including bullying, the value of talent, the impact of creativity, enhancing self-confidence, team spirit, and how to integrate with society.

The competition, founded by Kuwaiti playwright and critic Alaa Al-Jaber, aims to celebrate the names of the late Arab artists before they complete their careers, and includes cash prizes and certificates of appreciation, in addition to printing the winning texts.

Young Farah considered that her participation in the festival enriches her cultural and theatrical career, especially that the theme through which she won the award is the theatrical text directed to children, which bore the name of the late Tunisian director and author Makram Nassib, whom she met at the Kuwait Academic Theater Festival in 2020 and was a member of the jury and announced at the time that she had obtained the award of Best Writing Award for her first theatrical script “Where I Came From”.

Farah, a graduate of acting and directing from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Kuwait, confirmed that the Syrians in the diaspora embody excellence and creativity in all fields, raising the name of Syria high in the cultural and scientific platforms, pointing to the necessity of the insistence of Syrian youth to achieve their dreams by believing in them and striving for them.

Farah is preparing for a number of projects and various theatrical performances in terms of writing, acting and directing, to participate in Arab and foreign festivals.

In 2018, Farah topped the list of graduates of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Kuwait in all its departments, by obtaining first place with distinction.
